Terry looked at the floor.
"And we all know that I've been deluding myself for years. You, Risque . . it wasn't me, the real me. Besides, I've met someone else."
"I thought that when you said this year was going to be different, you meant we were going to get together."
"Well, we all know what thought did."
Terry sighed and sat on the nearest chair. She looked up at the man she truly loved who she had just found out didn't love her.
"So, who do you really love? Do I know her?"
"Kind of."
"Jimmy?"
James Proudstar looked nervously at his best friend before bringing his new partner into the room.
"SHATTERSTAR!"
"Yeah, who else did you expect?!" James continued as he and the alien warrior hugged.
