Submission Guidelines
There's nothing here, silly!

Because Siryn won't let just anything appear in her Story Corner...

Stories

  • It should be a Siryn story. She should have a part that is pivotal to, or at least visible in, the story. She doesn't have to dominate, but if I think she could be edited out or could have been edited in, I won't take it.
  • No porno. Naughtyfics are fine, if they're tastefully done. Dark adult pieces are good, too, as long as you don't expect me to be turned on by something disgusting and atrocious. But onscreen wankfests I will not take.
  • Tell me your preferred name or handle. I'd rather avoid the embarassment of archiving someone under the name on their email message and then have them write me back saying they'd rather be called another name. I know that can happen, because it happened to me in the reverse role. I wasn't specific enough with what I wanted to be called, so I was originally archived under my mother's name. Of course, this was straightened out in a few days, but I could have saved said archivist the trouble of having to go back and change my name on the index. Also, if you have a story summary you'd like to accompany your story, include it at the top of your submission. I'm not all that good at writing summaries, myself.
  • Please edit your story beforehand. I don't mean pick it apart endlessly, I just mean the spellcheck is your friend. Run your word processor's spellcheck over it, read carefully over it yourself for spelling/grammar/punctuation errors, get a beta reader, whatever it takes. I won't turn a story away because it looks sloppy, but I won't edit it myself, either. Most stories have a typo or two somewhere, that's no big deal, but the same word misspelled the same way over and over again or the same grammar mistake repeated throughout looks very unprofessional and these little mechanical errors can make an excellent story unreadable. So, you'll be the one to benefit from a little proofreading.
  • Notice I said "should," not "must." If you have a non-Siryn story that you'd like to see in here, you may send it to me, and I will look at it, and if I really like it, I will ask to archive it. But I'm much tighter with non-Siryn stories. I'll take just about any Siryn story that doesn't anger the Powersurge gods, but if I don't see Siryn, it better be a good story. If you send me a non-Siryn piece and I refuse it, I will tell you why I refused it. It doesn't mean it's bad, just not what I'd like to have here.
  • The Monster reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. This is a very rare, "just-in-case" rule. Even if your story has Siryn as the star and is absent of sexual content, if it offends me for some reason, I don't have to take it. I doubt this will ever happen, but I have to be prepared in case it does.

Art

  • The picture must be an illustration of one of the stories on this site. Whether it's a posed drawing of Siryn or her story-mate as they are portrayed in one of these stories, or an illustration of a scene from one of these stories, it's cool. Please label the picture with the name of the story in case I don't recognize it right offhand. (I think I'll recognize which character it is.) However, please do not confuse this with a "Fan Art" section as many pages have. I'm not looking for pics of characters from the comic books. Let's call this a "Fan Fiction Art" section, if it ever comes into being.
  • Drawings or photomanipulations, either one works. Photomanipulations may be hard to do to illustrate fanfic, but if you find a photo that reminds you of a scene written in a story found on this site, and adjust it accordingly, that would be great. Drawings are also accepted. Color or black and white, makes no difference to me.
  • Please send pics in viewable formats. .GIF and .JPG are preferred, since they on't have to be converted, but .BMP, .TIFF, and .CPT are cool too, since I can convert them with no real trouble. And please send the pics in the size that you'd like to see them in. Would you like it if you were about to see a graphic, and when you clicked for the full-screen version, you found something so huge your eyes bugged out and your browser froze up, or something so small you couldn't see the details? Or, so dark you keep wondering why the artist drew a night scene of something that ought to be happening during daylight hours? So, make sure your picture looks how you want other people to see it before you send it to me.

Do I sound like I'm full of myself? Sorry if these submission rules sound hoity-toity, I still realize almost all of the stories on this site were done by invitation. But I hope a time will eventually come when I do get submissions, and when that time comes, there's a set of ground rules to be followed so I don't end up taking anything and everything that comes my way. (Although so far anything and everything that has come my way hasn't been that much.)

So bring it on, folks!
